Make Pension Income Tax Free
Forum Against Senior Citizen Welfare started this petition to Finance Minister, Govt. of India, Prime Minister, Govt. of India
Pension is not an Income but subsistence allowance given by Govt. to its employees after their retirement. After becoming senior citizen a person needs more funds to lead his/her life comfortably as he/she requires more care on regular medical health than his/her young days. Moreover politicians such as Ex-MLAs/MPs are exempted from income tax whether he/she is Senior Citizen or young one. We request the Govt. to exempt the pension from Income Tax.

Late thought but for Good cause. It is ridiculous un this country, that pension, Deafness allowance are taxable. Pension is earned by an employee after putting in 35 to 40 years of service, paying Income Tax on his/her salary for such a long period. Thus, not only the Pension but all the retirement benefits have been defined by Hon. Supreme Court as the assets of the employee just like his property, and not his Income.
